actress Xochitl Gomez joined the castin October. Kevin Feige confirmed at Disney’s 2020 investor presentation that she’ll play America Chavez.

Scott Derrickson, who directed the first
, was originally tapped to handle . He even appeared onstage at Comic-Con to announce the title. But back in January, he announced on Twitterthat he was departing the project. The reason?
