The SHE-HULK Series Is Coming in 2022

She-Hulk is finally coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe! Here’s everything we know about the upcoming Disney+ TV series so far.

Who is working on She-Hulk?

We first learned that a She-Hulk series was happening at last year’s D23 Expo. News has slowly come in about the show since that announcement. We now know that Ricky and Morty writer Jessica Gao is leading the writing room. We also know that Kat Coiro will executive produce and direct several episodes of the series. Anu Valia will also direct.

Who will star in She-Hulk?

Tatiana Maslany will play the title role! Marvel officially confirmed the news at the Disney shareholders meeting in December 2020.

There were initial rumors that the team was looking for an “Alison Brie-type” to play Jennifer Walters, but apparently that didn’t translate to actually casting Alison Brie. And much as we love us some Brie, we’re so hyped that Tatiana Maslany landed the role instead. She won an Emmy and received multiple other nominations and awards for Orphan Black, where she played multiple clones—all with completely different traits and personalities. She’s an incredible actress with impressive range and versatility. Frankly, we’re surprised it took her this long to be a part of the Marvel universe!

If you’re unfamiliar with the character, Walters is a cousin of the Hulk, a.k.a. Bruce Banner, who receives some of his blood after a transfusion for her health. Because of the transfusion, she inherits some of Bruce’s powers, although unlike him, she can control them. This allows her to balance her life as a superhero and a lawyer.

In June, Variety reported that The Good Place star Jameela Jamil had joined the cast. She will play the supervillain Titania, who is likewise gifted with super strength.

Mark Ruffalo, who plays Hulk in the MCU, will also appear in the new series. We’re already excited to see him and Tatiana Maslany play off one another. They have a similar energy and will undoubtedly be super fun in scenes together. We also have confirmation that Tim Roth will reprise his role as the Abomination for the show.

Ginger Gonzaga (Kidding) has joined the series playing Jennifer’s best friend. Hamilton and The Color Purple star Renée Elise Goldsberry is reportedly also in talks to join the series, though no word on her role.

According to Kevin Feige, other characters from the MCU will turn up in the She-Hulk series.

When does She-Hulk premiere?

She-Hulk will debut sometime in 2022, as shared by Jamil (the video also shows her training for Titania).

We’ll keep you posted as more news becomes available about Disney+‘s She-Hulk series.
